CIRCA: 1930 - 50s

MARK: JUG: " Hall" in round backstamp with the words "MADE IN U.S.A." beneath the circle. MARK: JUG - "Hall" in round backstamp with the words "MADE IN U.S.A." beneath the circle. And "10 OZ." beneath the U.S.A.

MEASUREMENT TANKARD JUG: 9 3/4 H - 7 3/4" W.

MEASUREMENT MUG: 4 5/8" H. - 5" W.

CONDITION: We are offering for sale a beautiful Hall China Monk Tankard Pitcher and Mug Set. As you can see from the photo this set has all right handed mugs. Some sets come with 2 right handed and 2 left handed mugs. There are two distinctly different decals on this set. Both of the decals have been applied so that the monk figures are looking directly at the figure in the center of the tankard jug. The monk decals are in outstanding condition. This fabulous set is in Undamaged Condition without chips, cracks, or mold damage. The glazing is wonderful. There is one tiny flaw on the jug, and while it is minor and should not be objectionable, we do want to point it out. On the front side of the jug, near the spout there is a small glaze miss. You can see it in our photos. You can tell by looking at the full picture of the jug just how small this is. We have also taken a close up picture of this area. (please take the time to check the photos out). This beautiful tankard set is one of the nicest examples this type of set that we have owned.

Monk Decal - The Monk decoration is found on beer sets. Several different decals were used on these sets. The "Monk" decal depicts a monk in a red robe. This decoration has three distinctly different decals of the same monk. There is also a monk garbed in brown eating a meal. This decal is called "Abbey Meal". Only two variations are known for the monk with the brown robe. These sets came with a tankard pitcher / jug, matching mugs, and a pretzel jar.© Margaret and Kenn Whitmyer
