If youve never seen this one before, youre in good company (neither had I). Now, those of us who love Killing joke really loveKilling Joke, regardless of the album or era (though clearly some are far superior to others). And though this little gem doesnt cite a specific era or promote a particular album or tour, we can reasonably date it back to 1990, when the band released Externalities, Dirt and Various Repressed Emotions (possibly one of the greatest album titles in music history). Note the copyright at the bottom of the fabulous graphic: "Mdrtin Adkins/Invisible." This references the record company founded by Martin Adkins, drummer and manager for Killing Joke during this period. Adkins cred can be traced back at least as far as Public Image Limiteds first album, and he went on to perform with, among others, Ministry (who, by the way, Im seeing at the House of Blues in Houston in a few weeks), so we know that hes one solid dude. Aside from being a great musician, Adkins also happens to be a phenomenal artist, and thus this appears to be one of his original pieces: a "skeletal" Hitler (the utter soullessness of the man, rendered as a ghastly and unfeeling ghoul), foregrounded by a mass of anonymous skulls--a reference, no doubt, to the multitudes of innocent victims who suffered and died for his malevolent "final solution." Certainly, Adkins works sell for some pretty steep coin, and Ive priced this one as reasonably as possible (I didnt get it cheap either, trust me). My other Killing Joke tees have all sold out, so this is it for now, and Im not expecting it to be around for too long. As some of you may know if (like me) youve been looking, original vintage KJ tees are in very short supply; and here we have a vintage FOTL--which, as you can see, fits (and feels) like it was born for your bod. Killingly dope. No joke..
